Default Is There Enough Time For School And A Baby?

Hi umm, im only 8weeks pregnant. But i have this thing. We're id like to go back to school and get a better education. That way i'll be able to take care of my baby better. Now im not a single mom. But the daddy works 10hr shifts. And his job is 2hrs away. He leaves at 4am, and doesnt get home until 6/7pm. Maybe i could take night classes? i dont know. I also plan to breastfeed. Should i just forget it? I dont know what to do. And i really dont think it will work. Thanks for reading, and any comments you may leave.

Night classes could work, and so could online classes or distance education. & if you do decide to go back to school and you are breastfeeding, you can just pump your milk for the time you'll be gone. Pumping only takes 10 to 15 minutes, and its worth it!

i dont start school till next week (apparantly i get maternity leave like a normal job would have) and im in high school. but i only need to complete this semester to graduate. but my school does not have a day care but they are letting me do the homebound program for 8 weeks..but after that im not sure what im gonna do. im thinking about talking to the counselors and asking if i can just finish the semester on homebound cuz its practically just another 8 weeks till semester ends.

nikki..i think you should do it!! night classes should work for you! and like Marie said, you can pump before each class.

ok so im new..and dont know what i did...
but i put in the message thing down there and i dont see it..so ill say it again lol

but im still in high school and i dont start school till next week ( i get maternity leave..) and then after that im doing the hombound program for 8 weeks. but after that im not quite sure whats gonna happen. im thinking about talking to the counselors and seeing if they'll just let me finish out the semester on home bound cuz it will be just another 8 weeks till semester ends and thats all i need to graduate.

and nikki....i think you should def do night classes! it would work and not have to pay for child care if the dad comes home in time. and like Marie said you can pump before class!

You should NEVER forget about furthering your education. I did, an dinstead focused on working full-time and providing for my son (I was a single mom) You can VERY EASILY get grants and scholarships for liek a community college, and night classes are ALWAYS an option. Also, you can use things liek a drop-in daycare, if there is one near your home or school. That way, you can take a few DAY classes as well (most drop-in centers all ow five hours per day, enough for two classes) It will probably not be easy, but people do it all the time.

Yeah, I'm doing full time school this semester and taking care of my baby, and juggling spending time on weekends with her father, and its hectic but I do it for her.

That is good that you are able to make time for everyone. I know that it can get hard and stressfull, but its well worth it.
